Be the bigger person

December 20, 2010 in Personal Development

A small person is petty.

  • A bigger person overlooks faults

A small person picks up offenses

  • A bigger person chooses not to

A small person’s world gets smaller and smaller

  • A bigger person enlarges his world through a generous spirit

Being big is a decision you make

  • Being small is also a decision you make

Which decision are you making?

Focus equals Flourish

March 7, 2009 in Spiritual

focus

Philippians 3:13 (NLT) No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead,

If you will cut out everything except the most important things, you will flourish. What you focus on will flourish.

Often the good things in life get in the way of the best things.

Look at the lives of the greatest leaders in history and you will find that they were relentlessly devoted to one thing. The one thing that they were passionate about. They were focused on one thing and that one thing made history.

While it might be admirable to be a jack-of-all trades, it will only result in the mediocre. Excellence always requires ruthless focus.

The thing you focus on will flourish in your life, your ministry, your job and your family.

When you are focused, vision becomes clear. Confusion dissipates.

Focus on your purpose, don’t focus on the economy.

Focus on what you are called and equipped to do and let others focus on what they are called and equipped to do.

The Success Test!

December 22, 2007 in Personal Development

This simple questionnaire will quickly assess the probability of success in your life, profession and relationships. As you answer each question, think about a particular area of your life and use it to fine tune that particular area.

For each question score yourself based on this scale
1 for Always – 2 for Most of the time – 3 for Occasionally – 4 for Rarely – 5 for Never

Now add up your score.
If you scored less than 14 you are on your way to succeeding in this area. As long as you are clear about your goals you can easily achieve them.

If you scored between 15 and 27 you are set for moderate success but could be very successful if you applied yourself more consistently

If you scored between 28 and 40 you are struggling with mediocrity in this area at best. However, with some key changes you could achieve success in all areas of your life.

If you scored more than 41 you are either messing with the test or you’re in deep trouble.

So… how’d you do? See anything you need to change or a success you should celebrate? Why don’t we talk about it in the comments?
