Do You Have It In You To Succeed

There is no doubt about it, hard work and passion are the ultimate keys to succeeding in life. While the many ‘overnight’ success stories seem to send the message that there is some secret or shortcut that’s not the reality.

The secret is:

Lazy people are soon poor;
hard workers get rich.  - Proverbs 10:4 (NLT)

So the big question is: do you have enough drive to make it? Are you a go getter or are you just a dreamer?

  • It isn’t easy to get up every morning and do something towards your dream. It’s easier just to talk about your dream.
  • It isn’t easy to get over the disappointment of a failure. It’s easier just to quit.
  • It isn’t easy to get out and meet people. It’s easier just to sit on the internet.
  • It isn’t easy to follow a plan. It’s easier just to make a plan.
  • It isn’t easy to overcome the critics. It’s easier to listen to them.

You have to work hard to succeed. Developing the traits that make you successful is not easy.

One of my goals is to write a book one day, so I’m trying to develop my writing skills by writing more frequent blog posts. What are you doing today to move you toward your goals?

    Dave I so agree… I was a high school dropout and there was a point after dropping out about two years later where I was like I have to make a choice towards my future – it’s going to be sacrifice, commitment, time and money but I have to sow into my future 6 years later I graduated with my degree working in a field that I love and want to continue to grow in! Good word Dave you got the gold man can’t wait for a book!

    Hello Dave, thank you for the link back! I wouldn’t say I was so much following a plan as I was trying to say “Go Do It” though. Great post and good luck with your book! I will be subscribing to your RSS feed and look forward to reading more from you!

    Jason,
    Fair enough on the plan. Somebody has got to remind us to just go and do it. Otherwise we just sit around and plan…. Look forward to carrying on the conversation.

    Dave

    that’s right! Make it Happen is my key phrase. If you aren’t making it happen, what are you doing?
