It’s Get Something Finished Friday

monday.gifWendy Piersall has her Monday Motivation. It’s a great way to start the week and get committed to the things you need to do. You really should go there on Monday.

But I’ve been thinking…. (scary thought I know!)

What about all those projects that you’ve started and almost finished except for maybe one or two things?

ensuite.pngI started a project just before Christmas last year and today I realized I still have three small things left to do. No-one would really notice if I didn’t complete it except for me. The project was a renovation of our ensuite. I replaced the window, the vanity, toilet, the flooring and repainted. Everything is done except I need to seal the grout on the tile and seal around the sink and the window. That would completely finish the project. But it’s been sitting like this for months. Done but not quite!

Now I’m wondering. How many of you out there have projects kinda like mine. Almost entirely done except some baseboard, maybe a registration card, one more chapter in a book or some other small thing.

Let’s get them finished this weekend. How about it? Can we finish off one project that needs just a little more attention?

What would it take to motivate you to finish off one almost done project this weekend? How would you feel? Don’t worry about why it’s not finished, let’s just get it done. Today is not the day to start something; it’s the day to finish something!

I’m going to finish my ensuite this weekend, what are you going to do? Tell everyone in the comments then you can celebrate on monday.

Let’s make it a Get Something Finished Friday!

Oh yeah… I’ll let you know how it goes with the ensuite!

Hi Dave, I’m stretching myself to contribute chapters for a book. I was really excited about my interview that I taped on Wednesday. Now I want to give it another listen as I can write into my theme with much more acumen. This is something I really look forward to doing this weekend. And, I hope to wrap it up.

Glad that you’re back on board!

What a GREAT IDEA!!!!!!!!!!! I wish my husband would take you up on this little offer – I would love to have the stairs fixed, the house fan installed, the siding repaired, the brick path mended in the back………….

    Dave,

I know EXACTLY what I’m finishing this weekend – the Personal Development Partners interface! I have been struggling with finding time to work on it for months, and now that I dedicated TWO weeks now to working on it, the amount of technical struggle has expanded to fill every moment of time that I’ve dedicated to working on the project.

That site is going live on Monday, even if I have to drag it kicking and screaming out of the techosphere with it’s code hanging out…

Robyn, go for it! Sounds like one weekend ought to do it.

Wendy… now don’t you be getting me in trouble with Mr Piersall. I don’t need more enemies.

Aaron… I’ll be watching for the unveiling of the new interface on monday.

    Dave – Great idea.
I always save the weekends to finish up what I haven’t completed during the week – that way I can start ahead of the game rather than trying to catch up.
Don’t think I’m smart or organized – it took me 40 years to figure it out.
This is for Wendy – Hey, hire it done and leave the poor guy alone. Then he’ll owe you big time!
    Ciao.

That’s a great idea. It’s actually Tuesday now, and I’ve been starting a lot of things. Time to get some things off my To Finish list.

Hey Jean… thanks for stopping in. It’s never too late to finish something. Go for it.

    Morgan,

My deepest sincerest apologies. Your comment got stuck in Akismet purgatory and has just now been retrieved. You were able to figure out your system 5 years earlier than I. hmmm! Thanks for stopping by.
